I have just added to our playlist Rod Best’s latest album, “Soul Soothing”, featuring Patrick Yandall on guitars, Daniel Spirovski on saxophones, Libbie Jo Snyder on flute and Rod on keyboards.
This instrumental album is easy listening and relaxing and fits well in our music rotation, I hope you’ll like it.
Here’s “Latin Lover”, one of the tracks from the album:
Rod is from Australia, he currently lives in Gayndah, Queensland, Australia (4 hours north of Brisbane) and is married to Jan. He learnt piano at an early age then branched out onto organ.
He also has studied alto saxophone and guitar.
Over the years Rod has been involved in training and developing of singers and musicians as well as writing music arrangements for small stage band through to large orchestras, direction of major musical productions and song composition.
Rod Best studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Jazz Improvisation and Advanced Arranging, developing in composition and arrangement in jazz and contemporary keyboarding styles.
He has also studied under some great Australian jazz piano players including Tony Ansell, Mike Nock, Michael Bartolomei, Chuck Yates, Judy Bailey, Dave Fennell, Vince Genova and Kevin Hunt. He studied at Jazz Worx in Brisbane and received an Associate Diploma in Jazz.
He has released five instrumental albums called “Best Of Smooth”, “The Best of Rod Best”, “Groove On”, “A Peaceful Place”, “The Next Level” and his latest, “Soul Soothing”.

The International Olympic Committee announced Monday that Italy’s bid to host the 2026 Winter Olympics has been accepted.
The games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, IOC President Thomas Bach revealed during the announcement ceremony.
IOC officials voted between the Italian bid and one from the Swedish city of Stockholm-Are.
The announcement marks the Winter Olympics’ return to Europe, with the event having been hosted by Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018 and the Chinese city of Beijing staging the Games in 2022.
Italy has twice hosted Winter Olympics in the past – Cortina in 1956 and Turin in 2006 – but it will be the first held in Milan.
Actually, is it Milan-Cortina or Milano-Cortina? The official International Olympic Committee twitter, which used both Milan-Cortina and Milano-Cortina, appears to be undecided on what the Olympics will be called.
An IOC spokesperson did not say what the official name will be, but noted that Milan-Cortina is the name in English and Milano-Cortina is the name in Italian.
Summer has officially arrived in Milan, although we already knew it, as the weather has been really hot in the last few days 🙂
To celebrate summer, I added more than 200 new tracks in Milano Lounge playlist, many of which are more uptempo than usual. In fact, besides Chillout and Lounge Music, you will find many tracks of Tropical House and Deep House.
I hope that you’ll love the new playlist Milano Lounge Summer Groove as much as I do!
